Big bucks coming to ADRL
The Agent got a call this morning regarding yet another big infusion of sponsorship cash into the growing ADRL program. According to a note on ADRL’s own website (http://www.adrl.us/) the whole ADRL season-ending “Battle for the Belts” extravaganza, a race within a race to determine their World Champs, will get a huge increase in the purse for all of the classes.
What isn’t on the ADRL site is who the new sponsor is. The Agent has good reason to believe that the new ADRL money will come from racers from Qatar. They are deeply involved in all forms of drag racing, especially Pro Mod-style cars, and it only makes sense that they would get involved with the ADRL. The question remaining is, if it indeed is the Qatar folks, will they invest in the IHRA and NHRA programs too? 10/08/08 www.dragracingonline.com

Bright Lights, Big City, BIG Deal
The marketing mavens at ADRL world headquarters were in a tizzy today, so your Agent did a little behind-the-scenes digging to get the lowdown on what was up.
Basically, he can confirm a new sponsor will be announced shortly for the 2009 ADRL Battle for the Belts and beyond. Furthermore (and this is the really exciting part), your Agent learned payouts to next year's Battle for the Belts world champions will at least double from this year's rates. In other words, for 2009 the Pro Extreme Motorcycle champion's take will increase from the current $5,000 to $10,000; the Extreme 10.5 winner's payout will rise from this year's $10,000 to $25,000; and both Pro Nitrous and Pro Extreme will see their champion's payday go from $20,000 each in 2008 to $50,000 apiece in the 2009 Battle for the Belts.
Your Agent sends kudos and congratulations to ADRL President Kenny Nowling and consummate assistant Jessica Alcoke for putting this deal together at meetings in the Big Apple these last couple of days, especially considering the dour financial news that's been gripping the headlines recently.
But wait, there's more. Your Agent also learned that included in those meetings were several discussions about bringing at least some episodes of the ADRL's popular online Adrenaline show to a major broadcast network next season.
Stay tuned for more!
