Huntsville Spring Race Completed

The record book again took a hit as three new records were set in two differet classes.  Eventual Mickey Thompson  Outlaw 10.5 runner-up Tim Lynch reset his own MPH record with a 183.90 blast that was backed up by an earlier 182.11.  Stacy Parker  picked up 40 valuable points by setting both the ET and MPH records in Modified Street at 5.311 and 134.57 mph.

Jimmy Blackmon returned to his winning ways by defeating an out of shape  Lynch in the Outlaw 10.5 final, 4.60 to a 4.88.  Tony Johnson and his blown 1969 Camaro and Michael Robinson in the gorgeus new VIP Camaro were the semi-finalist.

Keith Szabo made it two in a row in the Berry Plumbing & Equipment / Sheppard Race Cars Limited Street class.  Szabo won his semi-final match-up with Jeff Cooner and Eric Dillard defeated David Waits to set up an all Mustang final.  After nearly a dead even start, Szabo charged to a 4.83 to clip Dillards 4.88

In TCI EZ Street,  Dustin Bradford over came a slight holeshot by Gary White to take home the title and trophy, 5.08 to 5.32.  Tracy Shores and Glen Jones were the semi-finalist.

The aforementioned Stacy Parker won Modified Street with his record setting 5.31 to defeat former record holder and SGMP winner Brian Murphy' 5.41.

Jeremy Noah defeated Scott Underwood in their semi-final clash and then Mike Herring in the Southern Truck Parts 5.0 Index Final.  Herring had defeated Paul Baxter in the semis but his 5.04 could not overcome Noah's perfect 5.00 .

In Dutton Grading 6.0 Index, Darryl Blankenship drove his 1972 Corvette to the victory over Glen Dutton on a holeshot, 6.04 to a quicker but losing 6.00. Adam Garner and Lebron "the man" Hill were the semi-finalist.

Former 7.0 champ Ricky Pennington returned to his winning ways with a win against Lucas Bendal.   Pennington was second off the line but pushed Bendall to a breakot 6.9999 with a safe 7.03. Current I4.0 7.0 index points leader Brock Taylor fell to Pennington in the semis and Terry Stringer lost to Bendall.

Don't forget racing resumes today Sunday Sept 21 @ 11 AM.
